60,000 unemployed Romanians found a job in Q3 / 2020

A number of 60,000 Romanians who were unemployed found a job in the third quarter of 2020, according to data from Eurostat, the European statistics office. The highest value of people who went from unemployment to a job was registered in Romania in the second quarter of last year, when 73,000 unemployed people were reintegrated on the local labor market, according to the quoted source. The lowest number of Romanian unemployed reintegrated into the labor market was registered in the first three months of the year, respectively 28,000 people.

On a European Union level, the highest number of people who went from unemployment to employment in the third quarter of 2020 was registered in Spain, France and Italy. "During the third quarter of 2020, the labor market across the European Union recovered to some extent, as COVID-19 measures were relaxed by most Member States. Between the second and third quarters of 2020, 2.6 million people in the EU, respectively 21.1 percent of all the unemployed in the second quarter of 2020, found a job", writes Eurostat.
