Hungary’s state development bank has pledged to increase its funding of a panel building redevelopment program, part of an initiative designed to help these Communist relics meet current environmental standards.

Last month, the Hungarian government announced plans to contribute HUF 10bn (€38.5m) to the renovation of the country’s panelház, or panel buildings, an increase of HUF 500m from 2007.
