Last year, despite a 13-percent increase, only around 18,700 new-build houses were completed in London, representing just 38 percent of the city‘s annual housing demand of 48,840, according to the London Strategic Housing Market Assessment (SHMA).
More over, the annual new-build housing stats fell to 18,050 in 2014 down 8 percent from 2013, according to the most recent London Housing Market Report, that would mean a further negative impact on the 2015 statistics.

“We are currently building less than half of the 50,000 new homes required in the capital every year. This is one of the fundamental reasons why we do not expect average price falls across London in 2015, despite the recent change in sentiment,” Savills writes in its most rece...
