The złoty rebounded this morning after weakening against the euro, following Andrzej Duda’s win in Poland’s presidential elections over the weekend. Market observers point out that this is mainly thanks to the strengthening US dollar. “Recent political events in the country should not have a long-term effect on the currency market. Markets should get used to the news within a week,” says Daniel Kostecki of HFT Brokers. Kostecki expects to see an exchange rate of PLN 4.14 to the euro and PLN 3.80 to the US dollar. The Swiss franc has hit a three-month low, coming in at PLN 3.97.
