Roughly 30 Škoda automobile dealerships are set to close as new guidelines governing such outlets have been changed. That's thought to represent one-seventh of all selling points in the Czech Republic. Dealerships have been given until the end of the year to reconstruct their retail space, but not all owners are interested in making the change. Sales director Luboš Vlček says there will probably be around 180 selling locations where Škoda cars will be sold by the end of the year, all of which will have made investments of millions of crowns. To date, 66 have made the required changes, which the company says was made necessary by horribly outdated stores. "We expect presentation to be made at a certain level of quality and in a particular environment," Vlček said. "Most of the sales network was created at the beginning of the 1990s when just a single model was sold."
