The Ramenskoye Airport is set to become Moscow's fourth airport at the end of April. Construction work on the 15,000 sqm passenger terminal is being handled by Ramport, a company established by the Russian state corporation Rostec together with the Lithuanian Avia Solutions Group. Works include the construction of a new cargo handling facility and a maintenance shop.

In addition to the Ramenskoye, the company is working on other airport projects in Russia, Poland, Italy and Lithuania. The opening of the new airport was postponed from its original opening in the last quarter of 2015 because the investor, Avia Solutions Group, failed to prepare the necessary documentation in time. Ramenskoye International has attracted approx. $280 million worth of investment and created 10 thousand new jobs. The airport is expected to attract over $360 million to the region’s economy. The airport will be allowed up to 20 takeoffs and landings per day, half of which will take place at night. It is expected that by 2021 the airport, which boasts a 5.5 km runway, will be able to handle up to 12 million passengers and process 40 thousand tons of cargo per year.
