The volume of foreign investment in Portugal under the visa gold program increased by 45 percent in April compared to the month before. The visas-for-investment program has now brought in a total of €313m since it was established two years ago, announced the Portuguese Confederation of Construction and Real Estate (CPCI). And the pace may be picking up, as the total for the month of April alone came to €82m of foreign investment. "This is encouraging data and it support positive expectations for the coming months, not only for the construction and real estate, but also for the Portuguese economy,” said the president of the confederation Reis Campos. The visa gold program is a "clear demonstration that Portugal has very high intrinsic competitiveness and incentives, investor confidence and regulatory stability."
