Milan, 14 May 2018 - P3, a leading specialist in the acquisition, development and management of logistics properties across Europe, has delivered a new 30,000 m2 BTS (Build-to-Suit) warehouse at P3 Sala Bolognese park, Bologna, to Automobili Lamborghini (Lamborghini) and Ducati Motor Holding (Ducati), after a tight construction schedule.

P3’s first BTS project in Italy, the new logistics facility will become a storage and distribution centre for original spare parts for Lamborghini and Ducati, including parts for Lamborghini's new Super SUV Urus, as well as Huracán, Aventador and historic models of Lamborghini race cars, together with the latest Ducati models: Panigale V4, the Bologna-based company’s first mass-produced bike to be equipped with a 4-cylinder engine based on the MotoGP Desmosedici, and Scrambler® 1100, which adds a new dimension to the “Land of Joy”.

The world-renowned automotive sector brands are based in Sant'Agata Bolognese (Lamborghini) and Bologna (Ducati) respectively, both less than 15 km from the P3 park. Approximately 120 people will work in the new warehouse.

The new building includes 700 m2 of offices. The warehouse space has a 12-metre clear internal height and 5 tonnes per m2 floor loading. The ambient temperature within the structure will be maintained at a constant 18°C all year round.

In line with all the new P3 BTS projects, the warehouse will use various eco-sustainable technologies, such as LED lighting and thermal insulation, as well as solar panels on the roof that will heat the water used in the offices and power the heating and cooling systems. In addition, well water will be used for irrigation, further reducing environmental impact. A new cycle path will connect the park to the nearby train station.

Jean-Luc Saporito, of P3 in Italy, said: "Lamborghini and Ducati had set a very tight timetable for the delivery of the new warehouse. We are proud to have been able to meet the delivery deadline – an achievement made possible thanks to the partnership between the P3 team; our general contractor Techbau, the Municipality of Sala Bolognese and, of course, our customers."

Lamborghini and Ducati’s new logistics hub is the second warehouse to be built at the P3 park in Sala Bolognese. It occupies 11 hectares, which includes 5,000 m2 for future expansion. Another 3 hectares are available for new BTS projects.

Paolo Gabrielli, Head of After Sales of Automobili Lamborghini, comments: "The new Sala Bolognese warehouse is part of Lamborghini's commercial and industrial growth path. In fact, the introduction of the new Super SUV URUS determined the doubling of the production area at our Sant'Agata Bolognese site and the doubling of sales volumes by 2019. This growth is also reflected in the spare parts sector, for which Lamborghini judged that a dedicated space was required. The centre is spread over 15,000 m2, with 3 automated storage towers, 8 loading areas and space for the storage of 40,000 parts for historic cars, current models and spare parts of the Motorsport department, Squadra Corse. All this to guarantee maximum care and response speed in the assistance to our customers."

"This important and complex project is part of a broader strategic plan, aimed at improving efficiency and services for our passionate Ducati enthusiasts. Once the full regime is reached, it will guarantee excellence, quality and shorter delivery times, in response to every single need in every part of the world,” declared Francesco Milicia, Director of the Ducati Supply Chain. “We are proud to be able to collaborate with P3, with whom we share values and professional approach, aimed at satisfying the customer's needs, in order to always offer the quickest and most appropriate solution.
