Budapest Airport (BUD) will be working once again in tandem with the Düsseldorf (DUS) and Hamburg (HAM) airports to promote their cargo operations at an upcoming trade fair being held in Toronto. The Air Cargo Forum takes place in mid-October. René Droese, head of Property and Cargo and the airport, said that cargo-friendly airports like Budapest would rise in importance if they served as a hub location for goods. Budapest, he says, is within reach of nearly 20 countries. The Budapest airport recently began construction on the first phase of an expansion of its cargo capacity called Cargo City.
