Kaufland to open first store in Moldova in 2019

Kaufland is set to enter Moldova next summer. The new 4,600 sqm store is under construction in Chisinau’s Botanica district next to the Slat shopping center. The property will include parking for 290 vehicles. Following the opening in the capital city, the German hypermarket chain plans to an additional 20 stores as well as a logistics center to its Moldovan network over the next 10 years. The company will invest €300m in the country and hire more than 2,000 people.
