The Poldi Steelworks in Kladno has finally been sold off following years of unsuccessful auctions to revive the bankrupt facility. The buyer was Opimo Trade, which made a bid of CZK 140m -- the same price as bidding started at. Opima Trade, which is registered in the town of Velke Polomi, lists production, sales and services as its primary activities. The insolvency manager Michal Žižlavský said the transaction has kindled hopes that the traditional industrial facilitz can come to life again to provide jobs for people living in the region. Production was halted in 2017 at a time when around 150 people were working there.
