Project Geothermae named as strategic investment for Croatia

The Croatian Government has declared the geothermal project AAT Geothermae in Međimurje to be a strategic investment for the country. The geothermal plant is part of the European Union's NER 300 program, a major programs for financing innovative pilot projects with low carbon dioxide emissions. The geothermal electric power plant will be built in Draskovec, in northern Croatia. The installed power of the power plant, as stated on the NER 300 program site, is 18.6 MWe and 75 MWth, while the estimated energy production is 258 GWh for 5 years (121 GWh of electricity and 137 GWh of heat). The investment is estimated at around about €81m.
