DS Smith launches paper pallet production in new Hungarian plant

UK-based DS Smith has begun production of paper fiber pallets in its new Hungarian factory which it built at a cost of HUF 3 billion. The plant is located in Fuzesabony, northeastern Hungary. DS Smith Packaging Hungary's trademark product is called PaPillOn pallet. The development of the plant, which took five years to complete, received EU support as well as HUF 749m in state funding. The plant has the capacity to produce 400,000 units a year. The company employs over 700 people in Hungary in its seven plants.
