Foreign buyers have been behind 20 percent of all flat sales in Prague so far this year. The biggest number are Slovaks, followed by western Europeans and citizens of the former Soviet Union. They're looking primarily for smaller flats, often in luxury projects, according to the Czech News Agency, which carried out a survey of developers active in Prague. Central Group's Marcela Fialková said that while Slovaks bought nearly half of all units sold to foreigners, the number of western Europeans is growing. Finep, which doesn't distinguish between Slovaks and Czechs, claims that 12 percent of its clients are foreigners. YIT Stavo's Dana Bartoňová told CTK that it sells 15 percent of its units to foreigners and that most of them come from Russia or from Asia.
