Real estate transactions in Serbia totaled €1.8bn in the first half of the year, according to the Republic Geodetic Authority (RGZ). The figure is 12 percent higher compared to the same period last year, when transactions totaled €1.6bn. The majority of properties that changed hands in H1 were located in Belgrade, followed by Novi Sad, Nis, Subotica, Pancevo, Kragujevac. “Although the sales volume is slightly lower compared to the same period last year when 48,000 purchase contracts were concluded, the trend shows that the price of the real estate itself has increased, having in mind the increase of the total monetary value by €200m” RGZ said in a statement. “This was achieved due to a 13-percent increase in the sale of real estate in new buildings, and it is common for new constructions to have a higher price than old constructions.”
