The Montenegrin state hotel group Budvanska Rivijera has received permits for reconstruction work to move forward on Hotel Mogren along the coast, in Budva. The hotel, which is located next to the city's historic district, will retain its historic façade but will have an extra floor added to it, including an open swimming pool, a spa center, and a luxury apartment. The upgrade will raise it to a 5-star quality hotel. Work is scheduled to move forward before the end of the year, following €1.5m in reconstruction work carried out 18 months ago on the ground floor. The new floor will not extend beyond the footprint of the rest of the building. The work will complete a 10-year program of investments worth nearly €50m into the group's hotel portfolio in Montenegro.
