Construction of the 32 kilometer stretch of the D4 motorway between Milin and Mirotice will be carried out through a PPP project. A tender for the concession is still underway, meaning that work won't begin until the end of 2020 at the earlies, according to the daily Pravo. It writes that seven foreign consortiums took part in the original tender and that negotiations with four were begun last November. The final round of bidding will begin after new discussions to be held in January 2020 after which the approval process will be carried out. But while the government predicts that work on the road could begin by 2024, critics warn that this could prove ambitious. Recently acquired land is still being transferred to the Czech Highway Authority and there are still enforced purchases being carried out on a few of the most difficult cases. It's the first time the government has tried to carry out work on a motorway through a PPP project since the D47 project ended fiasco.
