Skanska's Praga Studios has come through the LEED Platinum certification process for Core & Shell with 97 points, the highest result in CEE and the shared third place worldwide. It replaced the Visionary office building in Holešovice for the top spot in CEE in the sustainable standings. The 12,000 sqm building, located in Prague 8 – Karlin, was fully leased during the construction process and was acquired by CBRE Global Investors for €55m.
The building uses renewable sources of energy for its operations, with consumption reduced by efficient LED lighting, occupancy and motion sensors and an advanced heating and cooling system. The extensive use of glass in this brownfield project provides a high level of natural light while rainwater is collected to irrigate the garden and the green roof.
“For the second year in a row, our Czech projects have been ranked first among sustainable buildings, not only at a regional level, but also worldwide. We are delighted to see that our development activities in Prague are pushing the limits of technical solutions and we believe that not only the tenants of Praga Studios, but also the city as a whole, will benefit from this,” said Alexandra Tomášková, Managing Director of Skanska Property Czech Republic.
