The Hungarian government has allocated approximately EUR 2m for feasibility studies concerning the development of small civil airports in Szekesfehervar so it can serve business and sporting purposes. The government has also agreed to go forward with the renovation of the Gyor-Per airport. Reports suggest that the airport in Szekesfehervar should have the possibility to be adapted for commercial flights, and having it connected to the railway line could create competition for Budapest Airport.
