Developers who do not have the right number of parking spaces will not receive a building permit in Sector 5 of the Capital, according to a provision by Mayor Cristian Popescu Piedone. Thus, building permits for buildings in Sector 5 will be issued only provided the necessary parking spaces in relation to the function of the proposed building, and in the case of collective housing in relation to the number of apartments and their area. At the same time, the City Hall of Sector 5 mentioned that, in some cases, the public domain is "suffocated" by cars in the vicinity of buildings and housing complexes due to about 40% of parking spaces provided inside buildings remain unoccupied due to prices charges by developers. As a result, apartment owners choose to park their cars in public spaces.
