Several companies are fighting for the largest solar park in Romania, an investment of EUR 120 million developed by Portland Trust. On the list is also Hidroelectrica, the largest energy producer in Romania, which wants to take a new step to complete its generation portfolio. Hidroelectrica has already requested representation offers from law firms specializing in mergers and acquisitions in the energy field, but there are also several competitors in the race.

"For the 131.25 MW project (Argeş County) we are in a competitive process with several companies interested in acquiring the park. We cannot confirm or deny the name of any interested party at this time, as the proceedings are confidential. Regarding the entire portfolio of projects we want, with a capacity of 500 MW, we want to bring all projects to the level where they are fully operational, the strategy for each will to be finalized depending on the context of market at the time, " said Florin Furdui, country manager, Portland Trust.
