The beginning of work on the new metro line in Prague could be delayed after the country's antimonopoly office (UOHS) cancelled a tender for geotechnical monitoring of construction between the new Pankrac and Olbrachtova stations. UOHS said it was unfair that the tender documentation specified use of a specific product (TerraSAR-X) for providing radar pictures without justifying the choice. The Prague Transportation Company (DPP) reacted to the verdict by saying that the tender could be repeated before construction actually gets underway, since it still doesn't have a valid construction permit. The monitoring project is worth an estimated CZK 890 million.
