Arca Capital, headed by Slovak entrepreneur Pavol Krúpa, is opening the first phase of Gothal, one of the largest tourism investments in Slovakia, in a village called Liptovská Osada. Arca Capital first announced plans to build a leisure complex in Liptovská Osada in 2011. In an effort to compete with the resorts in the High and Low Tatras, Krúpa said he wanted to invest €70m into the project. Trend.sk writes that the Gothal resort was designed to offer ski slopes, a heated football stadium, a mixed-use sport hall, golf course, wellness centers, an amphitheater and a disco as well as 1,500 new beds in hotels, apartments and cottages. An aquapark opened at Gothal last year, and Arca recently opened hospitality venues with 100 beds, which is to be expanded to 350 in early 2018. In February, Arca plans to add a congress hall, sport facilities and a restaurant to the scheme.
