It has been 25 years since the first Globus hypermarket opened in the Czech Republic. Now Globus is coming up with a modern and perfectly comfortable hypermarket concept for customers, which will provide a new shopping experience. The shopping area is divided into clear sections that allow a comprehensive range of products on the topic. And the changes are also in energy savings. The first hypermarket in the new concept is Globus in České Budějovice, and the hypermarket in Prague Čakovice also underwent reconstruction. The inspiration for the new form was successful business in Europe.

Globus started a new wave of modernization of its department stores with the reconstruction of the hypermarket in České Budějovice the year before last. This business concept, which proved to be very successful in the south of Bohemia and welcomed by customers, has just been completed in Prague Čakovice. "The essence of the new space is a functional and very pleasant space with a wide range of regional and international, but especially our own products under the brand Honest Production Globus, which we produce directly in our store," said Jochen Baab, CEO of Globus.

In its new concept, the globe reduces the height of the shelves for greater clarity and adds graphic elements for better indoor orientation. To make shopping even more convenient, Globus has divided the range into so-called worlds. "The range is arranged so that customers can find related goods together. For example, we have the World of Delicacies, ie cheeses and delicacies, right next to the wine shop, "he said. According to him, customers save time when shopping thanks to easy orientation. "We know from customer feedback that they feel very comfortable in the new interior of Globus in České Budějovice and we believe that customers in Prague's Čakovice will also appreciate the change after the reconstruction is completed," notes Baab. Other popular zones in Prague Čakovice have also undergone modernization, such as Fruit and Vegetables, Bakery and Butchery. The popular Healthy World has been expanded and the news will be, for example, Household World or Children's World. The specialty is the new Poultry Butchery, which is directly connected to the classic butcher's counter. The production of meat directly in the store is one of the greatest values that we bring to our customers at Globus.

In addition, the shopping experience will be enhanced by the opening of space with a look into Globus' own productions. "Our productions are designed so that the customer can see on the spot who is preparing his goods and how. Customers will see the dough rolling, the confectioner decorating the cake, the butcher preparing the meat for lunch or a colleague from the delicacies slicing the cheese. The preparation of meals in our restaurant also takes place directly in front of customers. Globus is unique in that, " explained Jochen Baab.

An assortment of international cuisine has recently found a special place on a modern shopping area with a European format design. "Such a comprehensive offer of international and exotic foods is not common. At the same time, young customers in particular are accustomed to discovering and experimenting in the culinary industry, which is why we also focus on their wishes, ”said Baab. In contrast to world cuisine, Globus and the new interior concept of the hypermarket retain a wide range of regional foods. Each of the fifteen Globes has dozens of permanent suppliers from its own region and is constantly looking for more. "We want to continue to expand the range of regional products, we address farms that can offer our customers interesting and quality regional food. With Czech suppliers also in the aforementioned Poultry Butchery, which we have just opened in Čakovice. Customers will certainly appreciate domestic poultry meat from slow-growing chickens, ” adds Jochen Baab.

The new Globus concept also refers to ecology and the eyesight of customers. The lights are only LED, they are more energy efficient and shine in a different intensity and color tone in each corner. Thus, the entire shopping area is not over-illuminated, which is also more pleasant for shoppers. Part of the reconstruction of the hypermarket in Prague's Čakovice is the exchange of key technologies. A significant contribution to energy savings is lockable refrigerated furniture for the sale of fresh food.

"We thank our customers for the patience with which they go through the entire modernization. We believe that the result will be their satisfaction when shopping in a modern environment," said Baab. Part of the modernization of the hypermarket in Prague's Čakovice is also the preparation of premises for picking up purchases from the iGlobus.cz e-shop. He successfully operates Globus in the Zličín hypermarket and will continue to develop the e-shop.

All Globus hypermarkets have undergone a partial or complete modernization, or will gradually undergo it. Major adjustments have been made in recent years in all fifteen Globus hypermarkets, as well as in the construction of restaurants and cafés that sell food produced by local bakers, confectioners, butchers and chefs. Annually for renovations and innovations Globus will spend investments in the order of tens of millions of crowns.
