Kaufland opens its first retail park in Bulgaria

Kaufland Bulgaria, a unit of German retail chain Kaufland opened a retail park in the southwestern city of Sandanski, its first in the country. The retail chain invested over EUR 1.02 million in the outdoor retail area.

The new park spans over 5,000 sqm and features companies such as Polish discount retailer Pepco, shoe company Mat Star and pharmacy Vitaniya.

Last month, Kaufland said it would invest over Levs 20 million in the modernisation of 13 hypermarkets in 2023.
Kaufland Bulgaria, which generates an annual turnover of approximately Levs 1.9 billion, has 63 hypermarkets in 35 cities across the country, including 13 units in Sofia.
