The French fashion brand Orsay has closed all physical stores in Romania, along with the online one, some of the company's products being now available on the online platform aboutyou. Withdrawal from the local market is not a singular event, the same happening in Germany, the Czech Republic or Hungary.

The brand was owned until a few months ago by the Mulliez family, who control Auchan, Decathlon and Leroy Merlin. The business was sold in the spring of 2022 to Gordon Brothers, an American company specializing in restructuring and liquidation.

The company, founded in 1975, had 740 stores and was present in 34 countries, according to its website.
