In the last four years, 30 new international brands entered Romania, including Primark, Modivo, Lefties, Popeyes and Zabka. In the same period, 54 new brands arrived in Poland, 25 in Hungary, 44 in Slovakia, 20 in Bulgaria, and 196 in the Czech Republic, according to an analysis by the real estate consulting company Cushman&Wakefield Echinox.

Development activity remains sustained, with around 500,000 sqm of new commercial projects announced for the next five years. Prime Kapital, NEPI Rockcastle and Iulius Group are the most active investors in terms of projects announced in the short and medium term.

"In Romania, the most attractive retail segment was the fashion segment, where some famous names came", says Dana Radoveanu, head of retail agency, Cushman & Wakefield Echinox. It is interesting to note that there are no new names in the area of children's products and in the area of jewelry and accessories, in Romania, during the analyzed period.
