Next Wednesday, the registration for vaccination against covid-19 could be opened for people aged 45 and over, said Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES) of the Deník N website . According to him, the state also wants to adjust the method of distribution of vaccines. All doses of Moderna vaccine are to be given to GPs for vaccination. To date, 3.34 million doses of vaccine have been administered in the Czech Republic. Over a million people are fully vaccinated.

In the Czech Republic, the disease caused by a new type of coronavirus has been vaccinated since the end of December. The first was the vaccination of health professionals and residents and employees of nursing homes and other social services facilities. From the middle of January, the oldest seniors over the age of 80 are also vaccinated, and from the beginning of March, registration will be gradually started for other age groups as well. From Easter, more are added every week. Registration for those aged 50 to 54 was launched today.

People aged 45 and over could start applying for the vaccine next week. "I assume that in a week, ie on May 12," Babiš told Deník N. "The category of 40 to 44 years will also be opened in May. The goal is to open the category 16-39 on June 1 at the latest," the prime minister added.

In the Czech Republic, four types of vaccines are vaccinated, from Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. People can have them applied in vaccination centers or by general practitioners. But they complain about the lack of vaccines.

All deliveries from the Moderna company should now be directed to the practices of practitioners. "The strategy is now such that not only vaccines from AstraZeneka and Johnson & Johnson, but also from Moderna will go to the practitioners. centers should mainly receive Comirnaty vaccine from Pfizer / BioNTech.

On Tuesday, researchers from the Center for Modeling of Biological and Social Processes (BISOP) recommended directing more vaccines against covid to general practitioners' surgeries. According to them, complex registration via websites or the need to travel to an unfamiliar environment discourages seniors from being vaccinated in centers. Forms that need to be filled in in the center can also be a problem for some. People decide to get vaccinated in the surgery mainly because the general practitioner is well acquainted with their health condition and family history and they trust him.
