AFI Europe’s modern office complex in Karlín, notable for having the largest green facade in Central Europe, is set to welcome new tenants. The law firm Wolf Theiss, previously based near Florenc, will relocate its team to this innovative space. Additionally, European media and entertainment company Sky CP Limited is establishing a development centre in Prague for its global streaming video service, Sky Showtime, which boasts millions of viewers worldwide.

Sky CP Limited plans to hire dozens of developers specializing in front-end programming and JavaScript for its Karlín office. This new platform will support multiple streaming services within the multinational Comcast group, including Sky Showtime, Peacock, and Showmax. The Czech capital was chosen for the main development centre due to its technological capabilities, following the recent integration of Showmax into Sky. The development team faces the challenge of ensuring the platform can handle record viewership and vast data distribution, with the upcoming Paris Olympics being a major test.

“The brand new premises at AFI Karlín will be one of the attractions for the upcoming recruitment of developers. Construction work on the 1,350 sqm fit-out has already begun. In cooperation with the architectural studio Perspektiv, we are creating truly modern offices that will be a pleasure to work in. The expected date of their opening is early next year,” commented Kateřina Holická, asset manager of AFI Europe.

Wolf Theiss, one of the leading law firms in Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe, will move to AFI Karlín in October, occupying two floors totaling 1,350 sqm. The firm, with a 70-year tradition and a presence in 13 countries, serves local and international industrial companies, trading companies, banks, and insurance companies.

“Wolf Theiss will be based at AFI Karlín from October this year, on two different floors with a total area of 1,350 sqm. I am convinced that not only the Wolf Theiss team but also their clients will appreciate the unique space on the top floor with a spacious terrace and a unique view of the surrounding area,” added Holická.

The AFI Karlín office complex, also known as Butterfly, was completed in early 2018 and is located near the Křižíkova metro station. It offers 23,000 sqm of leasable space and houses tenants such as ALEF, mBank, Slevomat.cz, Edenred, IQVIA, and Maersk Czech Republic. The building has received the international BREEAM Excellent certificate, highlighting its sustainable design. The complex features an all-glass facade covered by more than 40,000 living plants, an intelligent shading system, bicycle storage, underground parking for over 300 cars, and a public park with a baroque chapel and water features.
