Slovenian footwear producer and retailer Alpina plans to suspend production activities at its factory in Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital Sarajevo due to low demand. Production in Sarajevo will be shut down in July and relocated to another factory in Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with some production activities from the Slovenian town of Ziri.

"With this, we will achieve higher productivity and efficiency and at the same time produce shoes at more competitive prices. Part of production operations will remain in Ziri," said the company.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alpina also operates a factory in Tesanj. K&H acquired Alpina from Slovenia's Bank Assets Management Company, in September 2022, for EUR 20 million.
