Anja Graf plans to buy another hotel in Bucharest

Anja Graf, the Swiss millionaire who bought the Ramada Majestic hotel on Calea Victoriei in Bucharest two years ago, wants to buy another hotel in the capital.

Anja Graf still has a plot of land in Bucharest near Carol Park, where 350 rental apartments are to be built, but she still needs a signature for the Urban Zoning Plan (PUZ), so the Swiss woman is prospecting the market and could buy another hotel.

"We have another hotel we might buy. What we would normally want is to go ahead with the Carol Park project, but if we can't, then we are looking at other opportunities," Anja Graf said.

"We weren't expecting this, it's extreme that the mayor wouldn't sign off on it. The money is tied up, because the land was not cheap," added Graf, who paid about EUR 9 million for the nearly 9,000 sqm.
