The Hungarian company Astrasun Solar, which specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of photovoltaic parks, has completed the construction of a hybrid photovoltaic power plant with a capacity of almost 130 kW in Timisoara. Astrasun began construction of the PV system earlier this year on a plot of land of almost 2,500 sqm in Timisoara, where "a large amount of industrial waste" was found buried.

To carry out the project, Astrasun says it used a technique that allows the barren land to be regained by green vegetation, "unlike the traditional solar PV system". "This project required a strong and unique solution because a large amount of industrial waste was found buried in the ground, in the soil substructure,” according to a message published by Ikarus Tech, the company that provided the metal structures used to build the system.
