Switzerland-based cocoa and chocolate products maker Barry Callebaut signed a long-term outsourcing agreement with Serbian biscuits and candy producer Atlantic Stark, a subsidiary of Croatia's Atlantic Grupa.

Atlantic Stark is the first regional customer that will be supplied from Barry Callebaut’s new factory in Serbia's Novi Sad. Barry Callebaut opened the EUR 45 million chocolate factory in the industrial zone of Novi Sad in April.

"This outsourcing agreement is an important step to serve the still largely captive Southeastern European markets with chocolate and compound. Thanks to Barry Callebaut's Cocoa Horizons certification, we will also create more visibility for sustainable chocolate in Southeastern Europe, something both our customers and consumers are keenly interested in," said Barry Callebaut co-president EMEA, Rogier van Sligter.
