Brno will exchange land worth CZK 313 million for land previously owned by the state. The Ministry of Finance approved the long-prepared exchange. Brno will get land in 26 locations, which will be used, among other things, for the construction of flats, announced Jiří Oliva (ČSSD), the councillor for property yesterday.

"The exchange has been approved and is therefore final and can be registered in the cadastre. Each of the parties has contributed land worth CZK 313 million to the exchange. Brno transferred to the state, for example, the land under the judicial complex in Polní Street, the parking lot in front of the Regional Court in Husova Street, in front of the Supreme Court in Burešova Street and the parking lot behind the Constitutional Court in Žerotínov Square," Oliva said.

In exchange, Brno received land in 26 places, such as land under the carriage station in Komín and on the grounds of the Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy, in Komárová on Schwaigrova Street, where apartment buildings could be built in the future, or plots on Černovická Terrace or in Kohoutovice. Oliva added that the sites are important for the further development of the city.
