The General Council of the Capital has on the agenda the suspension of the Zonal Urban Plans of sectors 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. The reason invoked by the mayor Nicușor Dan for the suspension is the reduction of the green space surface. The developers say that all projects built on a plot of over 3,000 sqm will be blocked and will record significant losses.

"It is simply a disaster what is happening. It is a disaster for developers, builders and designers but also for the authorities who will no longer collect money from taxes in the next three years. We have a very big problem with the lack of transparency and predictability. Such things cannot be initiated without consultation and without balancing the good and the bad. Yes, certain things have been done wrong, blocks of flats have appeared between houses, but now we can't go to the other extreme and block everything, "said Antoanela Comsa, general manager of developer Gran Via Romania and president of the Real Estate Investors Association in Romania (AREI).
