A tender has been announced for the design of the Kobanya-Rakos-Rakosliget line, which would involve the renovation and expansion of that route. This is part of the development of the line linking Keleti Railway Station and Kobanya. The project is to involve adding a third track, and restoring the speed of 100km/h on the two tracks that need renovation. The tender also describes the necessity of planning transfer stations to buses and trams, and park and ride stops. Currently that line serves 42000 passengers on a daily basis, but the government plans to increase this capacity with the said renovation.
