Building permits in the Zlín Region decreased by 8.7 pct year-on-year in the 1st quarter

The number of building permits issued in the first quarter of this year in the Zlín Region fell by 8.7 percent year-on-year. Building authorities issued 907 permits. The indicative value of permitted constructions in the region rose by 15.9 percent to CZK 5.2 billion in the first three months compared to the same period last year. This is based on data published by the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ).

For the whole of last year, the number of building permits issued in the region fell by 3.1 percent year-on-year to 4,294. Last year, building authorities in the Zlín Region issued 4,430 building permits, the highest number since 2012, when there were 4,466. The indicative value of permitted constructions in the region rose by 11.4 percent last year to more than CZK 19.8 billion.

The authorities in the Zlín Region issued 580 building permits for buildings in the first quarter of this year, of which 356 permits were for residential buildings and 224 permits for non-residential buildings. 327 permits were issued for civil engineering structures. The number of building permits issued decreased year-on-year in all regions in the Czech Republic. Across the country, building authorities issued more than 19,000 permits from January to March, which was 11.4 percent fewer than in the same period last year.

All constructions in the Zlín Region for which building permits were issued in the first quarter had an indicative value of CZK 5.207 billion, up 15.9 percent year-on-year. The average indicative value of one building permit in the region was CZK 5.741 million. The average indicative value of one building permit in the Czech Republic was CZK 6.901 million. The total value of construction in the Czech Republic in the first quarter was almost CZK 131.5 billion, up 9.3 percent year-on-year.
