The Burger King restaurant chain, now with a new franchisee, continues its expansion in the Romanian market with a new location in Palas Timisoara, which will open in spring. Recently, Burger King also opened a new restaurant in Palas Iasi.

Polish investment firm McWin, the new Burger King franchisee in Poland, will develop the Burger King and Popeyes brands in several Eastern European markets, including Romania, with a target of opening 600 restaurants in the next 10 years.

McWin and Restaurants Brands International, owner of the Burger King, Popeyes and Tim Hortons fast-food restaurant chains, have signed master franchise and development agreements for Burger King and Popeyes in Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic. McWin, through its newly established Rex Concepts CEE platform, is to expand the Burger King brand in the three countries and bring the Popeyes brand to the Czech Republic and Poland. The Popeyes chain was launched in Romania in early 2022.
