"The call for proposals for the construction of electric vehicle charging stations may start as early as November 2021," said Deputy Minister of Climate and Environment, Ireneusz Zyska. The last arrangements with the European Commission regarding public aid for charging infrastructure for electric and hydrogen powered vehicles are in progress.

"The number of electric cars in Poland is currently 29,820, and the number of charging points is over 3,170," said Zyska. Referring to the number of electric buses, he said: "Electric buses are 548 out of about 12,000 operating today together with conventional LNG and CNG propulsion." He emphasized that buses powered by biomethane will use the attribute of a zero-emission bus.

"We are at the stage of finalizing consultations, arrangements and notifications with the European Commission in the field of public aid for the infrastructure for charging electric vehicles and refueling vehicles with hydrogen propulsion. Later this year, I hope it will be November, for sure this year the recruitment will be launched. applications for co-financing for the construction of infrastructure," said Zyska in the Sejm during the first reading of the draft amendment to the act on electromobility and alternative fuels.

"We want to put the main emphasis on quick refueling stations with a single capacity of 150-200 kW or even more," he added.

He stressed that these stations are to be modeled on large conventional stations with six, eight or even more distributors. The stations themselves would be accompanied by a commercial and service infrastructure.

The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) will be responsible for servicing the subsidy program.
