Capgemini, a business and technology transformation partner, and Schneider Electric, a leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, announced a new collaboration in optimized energy management. Designed to help organizations accelerate their journey to smarter, greener building management and energy efficiency, the Energy Command Center leverages a unique combination of comprehensive digital solutions and cutting-edge technologies that simplify energy management and optimize energy consumption.

According to analysis by the International Energy Agency, energy has accounted for more than three-quarters of global greenhouse gas emissions in recent years. Clean electricity combined with the digitisation of energy management technologies is essential to accelerate the energy transition.

An integrated platform to monitor, manage, predict, control and optimize energy consumption in all buildings.
The Energy Command Center solution, developed by Capgemini and implemented in partnership with Schneider Electric, is an integrated, centralized platform for monitoring, controlling and optimizing all energy-intensive buildings, including data centers or mission-critical rooms. The platform combines advanced artificial intelligence (AI) services, logic and machine learning algorithms and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to measure and predict various parameters such as energy intensity, critical asset status, critical operations, renewable energy generation and overall performance of all energy assets.

Schneider Electric's connected products, peripheral control and consulting applications and tools help companies efficiently manage the energy supply for all their assets such as factories, office buildings or other infrastructure, while reducing energy consumption across all their operations through a single integrated platform. Capgemini brings expertise in data integration and processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the integration of all products and software into a central decision-making platform.

Leveraging real-time energy consumption and carbon emissions data, combined with modular, interoperable software and building management systems, Energy Command Center enables organizations to reduce energy consumption and associated costs and help organizations achieve their goals while accelerating the transition to carbon neutrality.

"At Capgemini, we deeply believe that digital technology and data management hold incredible untapped potential for accelerating the energy transition. We share this vision and commitment with Schneider Electric," said Aiman Ezzat, Group CEO of Capgemini. We are at a pivotal point in the energy transition and are delighted to join forces and combine our technology and data expertise with Schneider Electric's renowned solutions to enable businesses to drive and accelerate their energy decarbonisation trajectory."

Peter Herweck, CEO of Schneider Electric, says: "Solving the energy and climate crisis is paramount. Energy efficiency plays a key role in mitigating them. Decarbonisation through electrification and digitalisation is a must for a sustainable future. We are very pleased to be working with Capgemini as it allows us to develop our initiatives in energy efficiency and sustainable practices. Together we can have a significant impact."

Reduced energy consumption by 29% across Capgemini's eight main campuses in India.

The prototype solution has been tested at Capgemini's Indian operations, which represent approximately a quarter of Capgemini's energy footprint, since 2022, enabling real-time monitoring and management of the energy mix from different sources and energy consumption across the operations in a centralised, integrated platform. With a 29% reduction in energy consumption by 2023 (compared to 2019) across Capgemini's eight main sites in India, the platform contributes significantly to Capgemini Group's goals of decarbonising its operations.
