Carrefour will permanently close almost half of the convenience stores recently taken over from Cora in Romania.

"In a dynamic market like retail, we try to adapt quickly to the ever-changing needs of our customers. That's why a solid expansion plan requires a rigorous analysis of the current store network, and sometimes we have to make the decision to give up inefficient stores or change location, in order to be able to explore new options, better suited to today's requirements.

In this sense, after a rigorous analysis, the four Urban cora stores, respectively the Urban Moșilor cora, the Urban Ștefan cel Mare cora, the Urban Rebreanu cora and the Urban Giurgiului cora, will be permanently closed. The team will remain within the company and will be relocated to other stores in our network, after the closure and without interruption of activity," Carrefour representatives said.

Carrefour already obtained the approval of the Competition Council for the takeover of Cora hypermarkets, the transaction being completed.
