Cement factories in Romania accumulated the highest gains in the year of the pandemic

Holcim, HeidelbergCement and Romcim (formerly CRH Ciment) have positioned themselves, through their Romanian subsidiaries, at the top of the local market of construction materials manufacturers, after reporting all business growth last year compared to 2019. The same as the business numbers, profit was up for all three players, with the largest increase being reported by HeidelbergCement, which increased its earnings by 80 percent.

These results come in a year in which the local cement market grew by 10 percent, reaching a value of EUR 630 million, according to estimates by CIROM. The year 2020 brought to constructions sector the second best evolution year by year in the last decade, according to the data published by the National Institute of Statistics.
