Clarios moves to Goodman Mladá Boleslav Logistics Centre

Clarios is set to drive growth of its CEE business with new environmentally friendly premises at Goodman Mladá Boleslav Logistics Centre. Since Mladá Boleslav is the automotive hub of the Czech Republic, and one of the leading car industry centres in Europe, Goodman Mladá Boleslav Logistics Centre was a clear front-runner for Clarios in its efforts to expand its operations in the CEE market. One third of the world’s cars is currently equipped with Clarios-made batteries.

Clarios has leased a completely new, modern, Class A logistics facility, comprising 22,100 sqm warehouse and 1,300 sqm office space to facilitate this growth. Both Clarios and Goodman place high value on sustainability and energy efficiency, and this is reflected in the facility being the first of its kind in the Czech Republic to be registered with LEED v4 certification.

Vice President Operations of Clarios EMEA - Jose Domingo, says: “Thanks to Goodman’s flexibility, we managed to have the construction completed in only six months, incorporating all our specific requirements regarding safety, regulations and sustainability.”

Jan Palek, Goodman Country Manager for Czech Republic and Slovakia, states: “Clarios has always been a pioneer in the automotive battery world and it was no different with the design and construction at Goodman Mladá Boleslav Logistics Centre. We worked in close partnership to create a facility that was only the first of its kind to be registered with LEED v4 certification in the Czech Republic.”

These certificates required a complicated construction solution, but Goodman did a great job - thanks to their extensive know-how.“

“We helped Clarios during the site selection and tender of the development partner. Our engineers were present on the construction site, checking the overall continuous quality of the construction works, project progress & milestones and representing Clarios over the whole project phases towards the industrial developer. Quality of the cast concrete floor was of a main interest for Clarios that´s why CBRE provided impatient and independent testing on floor quality. CBRE also ensured inspections of the fire safety and heating-ventilation-air conditioning installations.”
