Construction output in the Czech Republic slightly accelerated year-on-year growth to 1.2 percent in August from 0.5 percent in July. Building construction, which is the construction of residential and non-residential buildings, increased by 0.8 percent compared to last August. Civil engineering, ie the construction of roads or telecommunications and energy networks, increased by 2.1 percent year on year. This follows from data published today by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO). Construction production hit the covid-19 epidemic in March 2020 after a slump. It has been steadily weakening since last April and only strengthened year-on-year again in May this year.
