CONTERA will build a new logistics park in Žiar nad Hronom

The development company CONTERA will build a new logistics park in Žiar nad Hronom in central Slovakia. The main tenant will be the wholesale of FAST PLUS electronics. Construction will begin on the land in the immediate vicinity of the R1 motorway in the third quarter of this year, and 300 new jobs will gradually be created there.

The land for the future CONTERA Park Žiar nad Hronom has a total area of ​​99,000 sqm. The FAST PLUS company, which is based in the CONTERY home park in Bratislava, will use a logistics hall with an area of ​​25,000 sqm in the first phase, with the possibility of expansion by another 15,000 sqm. The assumption of the beginning of construction works is in 3Q / 2022 and the assumption of completion in 3Q / 2023.

"The main advantage of the future CONTERA Park Žiar nad Hronom is the location practically right next to the R1 motorway to Banská Bystrica (40 km), which is associated with excellent transport accessibility. We anticipate increased demand from end and 3PL users," says Svetozár Rohoň, Country Manager of CONTERA SK.

As with most other buildings, CONTERA will strive for the prestigious BREEAM Excellent certification. The so-called green facades will be built in the hall, and the developer is planning to install photovoltaic panels on the roofs for the production of part of its own consumption.

"Currently, we have a logistics center in Bratislava, which has ceased to suit us in terms of location, shipping, receipt of goods and also storage capacity. We needed to modernize and streamline processes while increasing space. On that occasion, we decided to find a more convenient location for the new central warehouse. I consider the surroundings of Žiar nad Hronom and Zvolen to be the logistics center of Slovakia, and since central logistics should be in the center of the territory, Žiar nad Hronom is an ideal location. In the new premises, we will have a storage gallery, conveyors and other now unavoidable technological conveniences of a modern logistics center," adds Peter Benický, CEO of FAST PLUS, a. S.

In Žiar nad Hronom, as in all other parks in Slovakia, CONTERA has committed itself to purchasing only green energy, ie energy produced from renewable sources. The area in Žiar nad Hronom will also include rest areas, chargers for electric cars, a well for drinking water or rainwater reuse systems.
