The retail chain COOP Czech Republic has launched online sales for food and other items. It's part of an attempt to appeal to people living in smaller cities and villages, where the chain has a strong position. COOP expects to connect 500 of its 2,500 stores connected to the online platform by the end of September. Customers will be able to make their orders from home and will receive an email from the store when the order has been prepared for delivery. COOP will also be installing pick-up lockers outside some of its stores that will be equipped with payment terminals. Orders received by noon will be ready the same day for pick-up.
