The National Bank of Romania has increased the advance needed to be paid when getting a loan for buying a new home. The advance value will be 25% for RON loans, 35% for EUR loans and 50% for CHF loans. The increase will only apply to investment properties and not to those buying their first home and will start on January 2022.

The National Bank of Romania is fearing of a possible bubble that would add to an already high inflation.

This is the second measure that National Bank of Romania has adopted lately, after the interest rate increase which lead to ROBOR increase.
