Dairy producer Danone has secured 20 percent of the electricity consumed by its Bucharest factory through a EUR 1 million investment in the purchase and installation of photovoltaic panels. On sunny summer days, the production of green energy fully covers the factory's electricity consumption during the day.

"In our factory in Bucharest, where more than 150 employees work, we produce and distribute 1 million yoghurts a day to Romanian consumers and 13 other European markets. Our commitment to consumers reaches a new level, always by caring for the environment. We are proud to say that the EUR 1 million investment in the implementation of the photovoltaic energy system ensures 100 percent green energy for the factory's consumption in summer and 20 percent in winter. This initiative is one more step forward in our sustainability efforts," said Bogdan Joița, Director of Danone Romania.
