European manufacturers expect that prices of raw materials used in construction will double-digit price increases by the end of 2021, according to a recent study by Horvath, and the largest increase is expected to be 33 percent, at wood. Other important increases are estimated for steel, which will increase by 15 percent, and plastics, which will have a 20 percent higher cost.

Price increases for raw materials began last year, amid the onset of the pandemic, and the biggest jump was in Romania and Germany. In the two countries, the price of wood doubled in September 2020. Horvath representatives show that our country is strongly influenced by the German market, given that it is Romania's largest trading partner.
