The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development grants a loan of over EUR 46 million, as part of a financing package of EUR 93 million, for the construction and operation of a 102 MW onshore wind farm in Romania, in the town of Urleasca, Brăila county.

The project would annually generate 277 GWh of renewable energy and save approximately 115,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

Urleasca Wind Farm, the project company for the wind farm, is owned by BIG Energia Holdings (Hungary), a division of the Israelis from BIG Shopping Centers. BIG Shopping Centers owns over 67 percent of AFI Properties Ltd, whose portfolio includes AFI Cotroceni and AFI Braşov.
